從未看過他的書, 但今天見到都被數本著作吸引, 有沒有人看過可以分享一下?
據說他最出名的著作系列是The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series:

- 2000 Tears Of The Giraffe
- 2001 Morality for Beautiful Girls
- 2002 The Kalahari Typing School for Men
- 2004 The Full Cupboard of Life
- 2004 In the Company of Cheerful Ladies (also known as The Night-Time Dancer)
- 2006 Blue Shoes and Happiness
而2005年的"Friends, Lovers, Chocolate"則屬於The Sunday Philosophy Club Series的.
還有一些吸引人的書名: The Girl Who Married a Lion, The Full Cupboard of Life, Espresso Tales, The Right Attitude to Rain, The Good Husband of Zebra Drive等等.
看完Alain de Botton的愛情小說"Essays in Love"之後, 我一再對男人寫愛情有些少保留, 不是說de Botton寫得不好, 只是他寫得太"哲學"太男人了. 不知道 Alexander McCall Smith是否一個擅長寫女人的男作家?

I'm in sympathy with your views about Essays in Love by Alain de Botton. Have you ever read his Romantic Movement? It's written from a female viewpoint, and his portrayal of the heroine's psychology was incredibly accurate and subtle. Better than Essays in Love, in my opinion.

reine: thanks for letting me know. i only read "status anxiety" and then "essays in love", i love "status anxiety" much more. "essays in love" is also good, but really from a male's point of view. :) are u a M or F?
