尋人蛋糕

眼見這些cup cakes, 還有上面那些青綠色的小手, 像不像在泥土裡伸出來的屍手? 這個小蛋糕十分好賣, 是美國密芝根州Milford Township一間名為Milford Baking Company售賣的, 由於銷量好, 那些小手要加訂. 連聯邦密探的調查員也買了三打帶回搜尋屍體現場慰勞各工作人員. 那原來真是有人失蹤?

大規模的搜查其實自五月十七日在Hidden Dreams horse farm開始, 目標人物是美國一個和黑幫有連繫的勞工領袖Jimmy Hoffa. 城中各人都被事件感染, 紛紛作出不同的回應, T-shirt (印上字句:"The FBI Digs Milford, Do You?"), 沙律 (Hoffa Steak Salad "buried under field greens with mushrooms and edible flowers") ($12.95USD) 等都廣受歡迎, 但都不及這個小蛋糕來得吸引. 有餅店更貼出大大的告示板, 寫著: "Hoffa Mile Down The Road Experienced Diggers Wanted" 及"Welcome To Milford Have A Hoffa Day!!", 看來這個熱潮令全鎮都瘋狂起來.

根據Wikipedia資料, Jimmy Hoffa於1975年失蹤, 一直成謎:
In 1967, Hoffa was convicted of attempted bribery of a grand juror and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. In 1971, however, he was released when Republican President Richard Nixon commuted his sentence to time served on the condition he not participate in union activities for ten years. Hoffa was planning to sue to invalidate that restriction in order to reassert his power over the Teamsters when he disappeared at around 2:30pm on July 30, 1975 from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He had been due to meet two Mafia leaders, Anthony "Tony Jack" Giacalone from Detroit and Anthony "Tony Pro" Provenzano from Union City, New Jersey.

而在多個Hoffa下落的推測, 其中一個便是:
Buried in Michigan, either in the yard of his house in Bloomfield or another house in the Detroit area. 所以他有可能在這次大搜索中屍體被發現在Michigan的Milford. FBI說要搜索數星期, 該區市民唯有來個幽默, 吃吃蛋糕和沙律, 穿這些T-shirts吧.
