(A Ballerina's World):

1. Greek/Morton's Foot (圖左)
This foot type has a second toe that is longer than all the others. The width tends to be narrow to medium.

2. Egyptian Foot (圖中)
This foot type has a long first toe and the rest of the toes taper. The width tends to be narrow to medium.

3. Giselle/Peasant Foot (圖右)
This foot type has at least three toes the same length (sometimes more) and the toes tend to be short. It tends to be well-suited for pointework. The width tends to be medium to wide.

4. The Compressible Foot
Many dancers have fine-boned, delicate feet to go with their thin, fine-boned bodies. These feet are usually highly compressible in the metatarsal area. If you gently squeeze the sides of the foot at the metatarsal the bones will move easily. There is not a great deal of flesh between them. Often this foot is a Greek or Egyptian foot.

cheryl: should have asked u to show me! :P

qixiao: oh really? do u dance too?

cheryl & qixiao: then u have giselle feet! :)

i just purchased coupons from CCDC, which is around 950 for 10 classes, so you can take whatever class you want. but since it's not summer time now, some classes are meant for their annual show; coupon holders can't take those classes. but if you use coupons then you don't have to sign up for classes in the next quarter if you still have credits left. anyway, speaking of it generally, i find ccdc a pretty nice place; more "artsy" and generally the instructors are pretty cool. i've also been to those commercialized studios like bcdc, studiodanz and heirophat... all the jazz stuff is HIP-HOP my god!!! not to mention pirouettes... they seldomly do plies --> upsets me a lot!! =(

jazz is actually like ballet but it's has a better momentum. please don't mind criticizing. i think your technique is great but it seems like you lack something when you dance... perhaps courage?? lol. i'm sure if you learn the attitude in jazz you'd do much better ;) btw, the musical theatre class i took require some basic techniques from jazz/ballet... so i think it suits intermediate dancers a lot.

yes that was a performance i did back in june. we have this lil performance called "pau hana" due at the end of each quarter, so all the dance students can show off what they've learned. i also have another video that i did long sleeve chinese dance, and the other one is korean dance i did in the same performance earlier(not the messed up practices you saw in the classroom!!)... but they're larger than the 100mb limit. just can't share them w/ my friends...
