In late summer, the unemployed fill the benches of the square with their old hats on, their collars tight around their necks, as though they sense the beginning of autumn and the coming of winter. They read the wanted ads, the sports papers, the illustrated magazines and reassure themselves, perhaps, that there really is some comfort, some hope, 1946.

火車站及月台永遠都給人浪漫的感覺。它總比機場或碼頭浪漫及有意境。其實我一直都愛搭火車，穿州過省那種。
